Meet Mel
Hi, I'm Mel.
I'm a mum of three amazing children, all with their own special needs, and the wife of an interstate truck driver. Between raising a family, managing appointments, school routines, work, and everything life throws at us, it's fair to say our house can get pretty chaotic.
I also have my own challenges. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age and later discovered I have ADHD. For a long time, I struggled with feeling different and trying to fit into the traditional 9-to-5 lifestyle.
As many parents know, balancing work, childcare costs, school schedules, and the unexpected challenges that come with raising children isn't always easy. There were days when I felt like I was constantly trying to keep up while juggling everything life was throwing at me.
At the same time, I was facing my own health challenges. I was overweight, struggling with my confidence, and worried about where my health was heading. Instead of accepting that as my future, I decided to educate myself, became a Personal Trainer, and completely changed my life. Through knowledge, consistency, and determination, I was able to lose the weight and build a healthier future for myself and my family.
As I grew my coaching business, I noticed many trainers creating clothing brands. One day I thought to myself:
"If they can do it, why can't I?"
What started as an idea for clothing alongside my coaching business quickly became something much bigger.
The more time I spent sourcing garments, testing samples, creating designs, and building the vision, the more I realised that MGC deserved its own identity.
That's how Mindset. Grind. Chaos. was born.
The name couldn't have been more fitting.
Mindset is believing in yourself when nobody else can see the vision.
Grind is the work that happens every day behind the scenes.
Chaos is everything life throws at you while you're trying to build something meaningful.
Today, MGC is proudly built from my small home office in the Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia.
There are still plenty of days where I look at what I've created and think,
"OMG... I actually did this."
There are also days filled with self-doubt, setbacks, and moments where I wonder if I should keep going. But every time that happens, my husband, my children, and the community around me remind me why I started.
I'm not a celebrity.
I'm not a huge corporation.
I'm just another person trying to make something of themselves, chasing a dream while navigating all the challenges that come with everyday life.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that when you truly want something, you're capable of far more than you think.
Thank you for being part of this journey and supporting a small Australian brand built from passion, determination, and a little bit of chaos.
I can't wait to see where MGC goes next.
